Lessons Learned...

I find myself still learning, everyday! Just when you think you might finally have this 'mom' thing down pat, you make a new discovery. Here are a few just from this week alone....

1. If you walk into your little boys room, and he has taken the mattress off of his bed, and is dangerously walking all over the delicate bed-frame, do not exclaim "Eli, get down, you might hurt yourself!".......because then, he probably will (hurt himself, that is)! Oh, and after you clean up his bloody nose from hitting the bedframe, it may continue bleeding.....for the rest. of. the. day! Next time, just let him crawl around on the bedframe...

2. When making meringue, the eggs must first be room temperature. MUST BE ROOM TEMPERATURE! Oh, and if your meringue then refuses to turn out right, adding flour will by no means help. And then, if you go so far as to still try to bake these awful looking little meringue things, you will never be able to scrape them off of the pan. Never!

3. My son is not potty trained yet. Oh no, definitely not potty trained........

4. When changing your baby boy's diaper, you must be very careful where you direct certain parts of his anatomy.....oh yes, very careful.

5. The strange man knocking at your door is probably not a robber trying to break into your house....he's probably just a neighbor dropping by a key for your husband to do some work at his house. Maybe next time, you should open the door....... Oops!

6. Never turn your back when a two year old has access to a half-empty bottle of molasses. (Well, isn't that just a given??) Oh, and when you see brown stuff all over your white pants that evening, it's not ewwy from your babies diaper---it's probably just more molasses!!

7. Hiding Christmas gifts is harder than your parents always made it seem......

8. If one is feeling over-whelmed at the end of the day, all one must do is ask one's husband for a little extra help....and he will most likely pitch right in!

Oh My!! Meringue!! After all these years is that the reason I only have accomplished the task successfully a couple of times? THE EGGS MUST BE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE!!! Tooooo Fuuunnnnny!!!!

The molasses story was really sticky!!!

I hope the little nose is better now.

Try putting a little paper towel over the part of your babies anatomy when changing him. That might help! Maybe!!! HA!
