A Tribute to Grandpa Beachy

Joel's Grandfather passed away very unexpectedly this morning in a car accident. While his whole family is filled with grief at his passing, we rejoice to know that he is at the feet of Jesus, his Savior whom he spent his whole life serving. I only had the privilege of knowing Grandpa Beachy for about the last five years of his life, but he was a great inspiration to me. He was often known to rise at 4:30 in the morning to spend time in prayer and Bible reading. Joel and I have often commented to ourselves that as we get older, we hope our relationship can closely mirror that of Grandpa and Grandma Beachy. A more wise, loving, and caring relationship you would have had trouble finding. I mourn that my children will not be able to remember him better, but he will be a person who is often spoken of and remembered fondly in our home, and his legacy will always live on in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. So here is our fare-well to a man who was very much loved, and will be missed greatly. But, we look forward to the day when we will see him again...

What a dear man he was. I will be praying for your family in this time. I'm sure he was a blessing to all who knew him.

I am SO sorry for you loss! He seems truly precious indeed. I lost a great-grandmother who is very similar to Grandpa Beachy. Her loss is still felt today, 9 years later. My thoughts and prayers will be with you!
