Sorry for the long wait between posts. My whole family had a chance this weekend to be reminded of the important things in life.... My mom ended up in an ambulance and the emergency room on Friday morning due to severe chest pain. The doctors were unsure at first what was causing it. It could have been any number of things since she just had open-heart surgery six weeks ago. They are still running tests to fully determine what exactly happened, so I can' really say for sure. Fortunately, they believe that whatever the cause, damage to the heart was most likely minimal. Whatever the case, we are all so thankful that she is alright. When you come that close to losing someone you love ( or, rather, thinking that you are losing them), it really puts everything into perspective---all the little things that we tend to worry about that really don't amount to anything in the long run. I have vowed from now on to try to keep a more eternal perspective--to enjoy my children and my husband, to spend time with my loved ones, and to draw closer to my God. After all, the chores can wait, and dirty dishes won't ever make it to heaven anyway!
I am so very thankful for my mom---so very thankful that she is still with us and doing fine! Please continue to pray for her as she tries to bring to a conclusion all of the heart-related issues she has been dealing with over the past several months. She is confidant that God can heal her in the blink of an eye if He would choose to do so. However, she is willing to go through all of the tests and procedures if that is what it takes. Thank you for your prayers.....we covet them!
