Holiday Tip #1

  • Never listen to your sister's advice about making a giant cookie......( sorry, Kristin... :)

Yes folks, that's right---this picture is of my oven on fire! And whose fault is it? My sisters! Okay, okay, so maybe I was the one who made the giant cookie a little too giant....but it was her suggestion in the first place :) :) Poor Joel, he walked up the sidewalk from a busy day at work, ready to come home to a peaceful house and smell dinner baking, and instead finds his oven on fire, and his wife, of all things, sitting in front of it taking pictures! But hey, it's all for the sake of blogging, right? :) ( I did make it up to him later, though, when I presented a plate of unburned, yummy cookies... :)

Just for the record.....:) Jaime's cookies were turning out flat( for some odd reason), so I suggested that she put all the dough into a baking pan a bake it that way. I figured that you wouldn't be able to tell they were flat if you baked them all together. I was obviously right because your oven cannot catch on fire unless something has spilled on it..... meaning that the cookies were not turning out flat and were in fact so poofy that they spilled over the side of the pan:)
Sorry about the oven Joel:(
Love ya Jaime:) :)

Kristin--- I am honestly laughing out loud! (And it wasn't actually the oven on fire---just the burnt cookie that spilled over :)

(I was just looking into your blog archives - this post was certainly worth it!)

Not too long ago I managed to set some baking fish in flames and I still wonder how this could happen, since something like this has never happened to me before.
